Boys
What is it about boys? I have three of them. Girls, Im sure, are wonderful but boys? Boys are different. They are right up front with everything. When you ask a young boy "what are you doing?" They tell you they tied the cat to their skateboard to see if he still landed on his feet...when they rolled him down the stairs....
Very little is sweeter that a 10 year old boy. They are still young enough to hug and kiss you in public, but old enough to learn how to use the washing machine and stove. They're like puppies...all feet and hands and clumsy stumbling through life at this age. Beautiful and sweaty and wonderful balls of energy. Then, they get older and more responsible, and more trouble at times too. I've had the honor student and the gang member. They break your heart, bruise your soul and change the way you look at the world. My gang member became a wonderful family man. My honor student, a soldier. My youngest? He is changing the way I look at the world. He is Autistic and has changed my life. His is still open to so many possibilities. They have all brought a different lesson to me and are all wonderful and beautiful in their own ways and I love them with every piece of my broken and glued together mothers heart. Because, see? It always gets glued back together....no matter how many times they break it. It is a mothers heart and mothers' hearts dont stay broken.
